GNAC Men's Basketball Report: Week 11
Rivier's Miles Gillette averaged 32.0 points and 13.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week to net his second GNAC Player of the Week award this season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK Miles Gillette, Rivier (Sr., F - Washington, DC) - Gillette averaged 32.0 points, 13.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 51.2% (22-43 FG, 3-8 3PT, 17-20 FT) from the field to lead the Radiers to an impressive 2-0 week in GNAC play. He scored 32 points in each win, pulling down 16 boards in a 76-66 road win over Saint Joseph's of Maine before registering 11 caroms and five assists in a 92-77 home victory against Anna Maria.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Josh Zangerle, Johnson & Wales (RI) (Fy., G - Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) - Averaging 22.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, Zangerle helped JWU to two GNAC victories over the past week. He scored 26 points with six rebounds in a home win over Dean, connecting on 7-of-13 three pointers. In a road victory against Lasell, he scored 31 points with 10 boards while shooting 7-of-11 from three. Overall, he shot 47.8% (22-46 FG, 15-28 3PT, 8-10 FT) for the week.

HONOR ROLL
Terry Dawkins, Albertus Magnus (Sr., F - Bronx, NY) - Dawkins helped lead the Falcons to a 2-1 week behind 13.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. Last Tuesday in the Falcons' win over Lasell, he scored a team-high 17 points to go along with eight rebounds and two assists. On Thursday at Regis (Mass.), he notched 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field as well as tallied nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Dawkins then wrapped up the week posting 10 points, nine rebounds, two blocks and an assist the Falcons' setback to #7 USJ.
Jakai Alexandre, Anna Maria (So., G - Fitchburg, Mass.) - Alexandre had his best week of the season, leading the AMCATS to a 2-1 week by contributing in every aspect of the game. The second-year guard averaged 14.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 0.7 blocks per game over three games, all while shooting 50 percent from behind the arc.
Scott Lampron, Colby-Sawyer (Jr, G - Concord, N.H.) - Lampron led the Charger offense this past week, averaging 16.5 points and 5.0 rebounds. He started the week with a 14-point performance against Norwich before a 19-point effort against Emmanuel to go along with seven rebounds.
Traijan Powell, Dean (Sr, G - Sierra Vista, Ariz.) - Powell led the Bulldogs in a 1-2 week with 16.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game while shooting 47.8% (22-46) from the floor. He began the week with nine points at #7 USJ before scoring a team-best 23 points in a tough 66-56 road loss at JWU. Powell then scored a team-high 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help lead Dean to its first GNAC win, a 64-61 triumph over Regis.
Donte Pope, Emmanuel (Mass.) (So, G - Middletown, Conn.) - In three games this past week (1-2), Pope averaged 16.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Pope had a pair of 18-point performances, filling the stat sheet in Saturday's 77-61 win over Coly-Sawyer with 18 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
EJ Day, Lasell (Senior, Guard - Norwalk, Conn.) - Day scored a game-high 30 points and tied a season-high 11 made field goals in the win at Elms Thursday, averaging 22.0 points and 4.3 assists in a 1-2 week.
Kyle Booth, Norwich (Sr., G/F - Northfield, Vt.) - Booth scored 13 points per game while knocking down 45.5 percent of his shots while pulling down 6.3 rebounds per matchup. Booth also has 2.3 assists per game and a pair of steals for the Cadets.
Marc Trinidad, Regis (Mass.) (Sr., F - Bronx, N.Y.) - Trinidad averaged 17.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game as the Pride played three games in five days, going 1-2 over that stretch. On Tuesday night, he shot 8-of-14 for 19 points in an 81-66 victory at Johnson & Wales, plus he grabbed six rebounds. He was a perfect 6-for-6 from the FT line as he scored 10 points on Thursday against Albertus Magnus, before notching his 17th career double-double with 22 points (8-15 FG, 6-13 FT) and 11 rebounds to go with three assists, three steals, and four blocks. It was the eighth time in his career he scored 20+ points in a game.
Chaylyn Martin, St. Joseph (Conn.) (Sr., G - Hartford, Conn.) - Martin averaged 19.5 points and 8.0 rebounds as the undefeated Blue Jays again had a 2-0 week in GNAC play, including a 29-point victory over rival Albertus Magnus.
Jaecee Martin, St. Joseph (Conn.) (Sr., G - Hartford, Conn.) - Martin averaged 19.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 9.0 assists as USJ improved to 18-0 overall on the season and 13-0 in GNAC play.
Griffin Foley, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Senior, G - Portland, Maine) - Foley averaged 18.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in a 2-1 week for the Monks. The senior guard scored 20 points with four assists in a 75-73 win over Emmanuel on Thursday and added 23 points, three assists, and two rebounds in a 79-78 victory at Norwich on Saturday.
