GNAC Women's Tennis Report: Week 6
Regis junior Carly Donovan won all four of her matches at No. 1 Singles and No. 1 Doubles against Clark and USJ last week for the Pride.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK Carly Donovan, Regis (Mass.) (Jr. - Harwich, Mass.) Donovan dominated her opponents in two dual matches over the past week. Against Clark, she teamed with Ariana McCormack for an 8-1 victory at number one doubles, and then won her singles match in the number one position (6-0, 6-2) to help the Pride defeat the Cougars, 8-1. Saturday, Regis defeated St. Joseph (Conn.), 8-1, with Donovan again sweeping her matches. After Donovan and McCormack won their doubles match at #1, 8-4, Donovan posted a double bagel in winning her singles match in the first position (6-0, 6-0). |

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Constantinidi helped Johnson & Wales to its third conference shutout following a 9-0 victory over Suffolk University Saturday afternoon to remain perfect in conference play - improving to 6-0. Against the Rams, Constantinidi kept the shutout intact with a two-set,6-3, 6-0 win over Suffolk's Bianca Prescott. Early in the week against UMass Dartmouth, she partnered with teammate Lily Votta to claim an 8-3 doubles victory over Corsairs Hana Hershey and Alanna O'Connell. |
WEEK 6 HONOR ROLL
Yashu Yang, Colby-Sawyer (Jr - Kunming City, China) - Yang won both of her matches in the lone Chargers' match of last week, a 9-0 win over Albertus Magnus. Yang teamed with Alexa Conlin at the top doubles spot to sweep the Falcons tandem 8-0. Yang then did not drop a game en route to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at the top singles flight.
Sharon Biondi, Eastern Nazarene (Sr. - Barquisimeto, Venezuela) - Sharon Biondi posted a 4-0 combined record on the week to lead Eastern Nazarene to a pair of wins over Salve Regina and GNAC foe Simmons. Biondi notched two victories at the No. 1 singles spot and earned a pair of wins at the No. 2 doubles position.
Maria Busila, Eastern Nazarene (Fr. - Malaga, Spain) - Maria Busila posted a combined 3-1 record on the week to help Eastern Nazarene to a pair of wins on the week. Busila notched two victories at the No. 5 singles position and registered a 1-1 record at the No. 3 doubles spot.
Kourtney Moore, Johnson & Wales (RI) (So. - Roswell, Ga.) - Sophomore Kourtney Moore guided Johnson & Wales to a 2-0 week with a pair of 9-0 sweeps of UMass Dartmouth and conference foe Suffolk . Early in the week, the Georgia native teamed with first-year Emily Hill to claim victory over the Corsairs Lauren Morgart and Jaime Fastino in first doubles, 8-4, then defeated Rachel Aftandilian in two sets, 6-0, 6-3. Against Suffolk to clos eout the week, Moore helped the Wildcats remain perfect taking third singles with ease, 6-1, 6-0 after a convincing 8-1 second doubles victory with Hill.
