PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lamonte Thomas, JWU, Jr., Providence, RI

Lamonte Thomas carried the Wildcats to their first conference championship since 2004, and in the process earned the tournament MVP award. Thomas averaged 35 points per game, 7 rebounds per game and 10 assists per game, while playing a total of 115 out of 120 minutes. The junior guard is currently ranked first in NCAA Division III for the most points per game (30.4). Thomas also has earned GNAC Player of the Year this past week and marks the fourth time this season Thomas has earned GNAC Player of the Week honors.

Rivier’s Tom Poitras had an amazing game in the Raiders playoff loss to Albertus Magnus. The rookie scored 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in the final game of the season. This is Poitras third time, and second consecutive week, this season earning Rookie of the Week honors.
