Nicholas Cyrus (Mens Golf, Emmanuel), Danielle Figueroa (Womens Soccer, Albertus Magnus), Corey Grant (Mens Soccer, St. Josephs Maine), Sarah Hawkes (Womens Volleyball, St. Josephs Maine) Greg Redfield (Mens Cross Country, Johnson and Wales), Sabrina Salmela (Womens Tennis, Simmons) and Rebecca Vincent (Womens Cross Country, Rivier) have been named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookies of the Week.

(Women’s Cross Country, Rivier) have been named Great
Northeast Athletic Conference Rookies of the Week.
ROOKIES OF THE WEEK
Men’s Cross Country – Greg Redfield, Johnson
and Wales, Fr., Penfield, N.Y.
Set a new course record at the 8K Elms Invitational on Saturday
afternoon, finishing in a time of 27:04 to lead the Wildcats to a
first-place finish a the six-team event.
Women’s Cross Country – Rebecca Vincent,
Rivier, Fr., Concord, N.H.
Rebecca continues to impress as she finished once again in the top
5 for the 3rd consecutive collegiate race of her freshman campaign.
Her time of 22:41 led all freshmen competing at the Rivier
Invitational.
Men’s Soccer – Corey Grant, St. Joseph (Maine), Fr.,
Haverhill, Mass.
Grant tallied the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over in-state
rival University of Maine-Farmington on Thursday, September
24th.
Women’s Soccer – Danielle Figueroa, Albertus
Magnus, Fr., Bridgeport, Conn.
Danielle has continued to play well with 1 goal and 3 assists in a
2-0-1 week for the Lady Falcons.
Women’s Tennis – Sabrina Salmela, Simmons, Fr.,
Beverly, Mass.
Salmela was a perfect 4-0 from the top singles and doubles
positions this week. Her singles victory against UMass-Dartmouth
helped lead the Sharks to victory against the previously undefeated
Little East Champions.
Women’s Volleyball – Sarah Hawkes, St.
Joseph’s (Maine), Fr. Pownal, Maine
In a 2-1 week for the Monks, Hawkes recorded 35 kills - against
just 5 errors - in 68 attempts to post a stellar .441 attack
percentage. The freshman middle blocker netted 12 kills against
Maine-Farmington on Wednesday and 15 kills against Albertus Magnus
on Sunday.
Men’s Golf – Nicholas Cyrus, Emmanuel, Jr.,
Rockland, Mass.
Junior Nick Cyrus led Emmanuel to its first ever match win on
Friday at William J. Devine Golf Course. Cyrus shot a 42 on the
front and a 47 on the back for an 89 on the day and was the low
scorer for the Saints, as Emmanuel topped Newbury College in a
local non-conference match.
