Great Northeast Athletic Conference Baseball Report - Week 6

Player of the Week
Zach Boyes (West Warwick, R.I.). Senior, Outfielder, Johnson & Wales University
Helped JWU to a perfect 5-0 week, hitting .571 with seven runs and 11 RBI on the week. Had five multi-hit games on the week. In the double-header sweep of Norwich the talented right fielder went 4-for-6 with three runs and four RBI. Also tallied five stolen bases on the week while recording a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

Pitcher of the Week
Greg Sherman (Marshfield, Mass.), Sophomore, Pitcher, Lasell College
Sherman threw the first no-hitter in the history of the Lasell College baseball program in a 5-0 defeat of Anna Maria College. The sophomore hurler allowed one walk and struck out five, facing one more batter than the minimum in seven innings. In his most efficient outing of the season Sherman only needed 83 pitches, 50 of which were strikes to complete his no-hit bid.

Rookie of the Week
Jordan Kubilus (Cheshire, Conn.), Freshman, Pitcher/Infielder, Albertus Magnus College
The rookie registered 10 hits on the week and batted .556 with nine RBI, while leading the falcons to a 3-2 week. Kubilus also had five runs scored and two doubles on the week. Against Mt. St. Mary, he went 4-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored. He also went 4-for-5 in the Falcons' 15-9 win at Rivier on Saturday. He also added a double, three RBI and two runs in that contest.
