GNAC Weekly Honors for March 16, 2009
Saint Joseph's (ME) junior Liddy van der Linden was selected as the GNAC Softball Player of the Week, Saint Joseph's (ME) sophomore Emily Leverone was named GNAC Softball Rookie of the Week, and Emerson freshmen Kelsey Tuthill and Rivier junior Monica White were selected as GNAC Softball Co-Pitchers of the Week.

Player of the Week
Liddy van der Linden Saint Joseph's (ME)
Worcester, MA JR
van der Linden hit .364 with nine runs and 14 RBI's in a 6-4
spring trip for the Lady Monks. The junior shortstop drove home
three runs against SUNY-Oswego 3/9, College of Wooster 3/12 and
Western New England 3/14. She also notched the game-winning hit, a
single in the bottom of the ninth, in an extra-inning victory over
WNEC.
Rookie of the Week
Emily Leverone Saint Joseph's (ME)
Hampton, NH SO
Leverone started her collegiate career with a stellar spring trip,
hitting .515 (17-33) with two home runs and 12 RBI's to help the
Lady Monks post a 6-4 record for the week. The sophomore notched
seven multiple-hit games, including a 3-3 performance against
Delaware Valley 3/14, and plated three runs in games against
SUNY-Oswego 3/9 and Fitchburg State 3/13.

Kelsey Tuthill Emerson
Middlefield, CT FR
Emerson's number one pitcher defeated #16 University of Rochester
and #21 Ithaca College, while losing to only #6 Cortland State (in
a game where Emerson was no-hit).
Monica White Rivier
Augusta, ME JR
In the opening game against Bridgewater State, White gave up just
1 earned run while striking out 14.In her second start, White
pitched a 4-hit shutout. In her final start of the season, White
again struck out 14 to pick up win #2. At the plate, White hit .389
with a .611 slugging percentage.
