GNAC Weekly Honors for January 19, 2009
Rivier College junior Jess Mellen was selected as the GNAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week and Emerson College sophomore Lauren Zaniboni was named GNAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week ending on January 19, 2009.

In a 2-1 week for the Raiders, Mellen averaged 18.3 points (on 57%
shooting from the field) and 11.67 rebounds per contest. In
addition, Jess averaged 6 assists and nearly 3 steals. In a
non-conference win, Mellen was dominant as dropped in 20 points to
go with 17 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals. (Points 55

Lauren Zaniboni Emerson So
San Diego, CA
Zaniboni averaged a double-double of 19.3 points and 13.3 rebounds
in a 1-2 week for Emerson. Shot .621 from the field on 18- 29
shooting. Also added six blocks and two steals. (Points 58
