Providence, R.I. -- The Johnson & Wales University story on Special Olympics Fan In The Stands Event has been nominated for the NCAA Special Olympics Spotlight Poll for the second straight year.
Providence, R.I. – For the second straight year, the Johnson & Wales University Department of Athletics hosted the “Fan In The Stands” event, honoring Special Olympics of Rhode Island. A partnership between SORI and the JWU Community, the event showcases 14 teams from across the state.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – On Wednesday, April 23, the Johnson & Wales University Athletic Department is hosting a “Fan in the Stands” event from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in collaboration with the RI Special Olympics at the Wildcat Center.

BOSTON, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has announced the 2013 All-GNAC Women's Volleyball Teams and major awards following the completion of this weekend's championship in which Rivier University claimed the title following a 3-1 victory over Emmanuel College
NASHUA, N.H. – Rivier University captured the 2013 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Volleyball championship Saturday afternoon at the Muldoon Gymnasium by defeating Emmanuel College , 3-1 (25-19, 25-21, 19-25, 25-17). With the victory, the Raiders (26-8) earn the GNAC automatic qualifier to the NCAA tournament while the Saints (23-13) will have to wait to see if they earn an at-large bid or receive an invitation to the ECAC Championship. This is the fifth GNAC Championship for the Raiders since 2003 and their second in three seasons.
When a team only loses one conference game, posts a 20 win season, and positions itself for a run in the tournament, it would be logical to assume they are bolstered by experience and senior leadership.
STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's College senior libero Erica Russi (Debary, Fla.) broke the program's all-time digs record in a 3-0 victory over University of Maine-Presque Isle on Monday afternoon.
Nashua, N.H. - In his 15th Season as the Head Coach of the Rivier University Women's Volleyball program, Craig Kolek has achieved a feat that only 19 other WVB Head Coaches have reached... 300 career wins. Kolek becomes the second New Hampshire Division III Head Coach to achieve this historic milestone as Keene State's Bob Weiner also has over 300 wins.
