GNAC Women's Basketball Report: Week 12
Rivier first-year guard Lyric Grumblatt captured her third GNAC Player of the Week award of the 2021-22 campaign after averaging 28.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in a perfect 4-0 week.

PLAYER / ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Lyric Grumblatt, Rivier (So., G - Manchester, N.H.) - Grumblatt averaged 28.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.8 steals while shooting 45.1% (41-91 FG, 12-32 3PT, 20-25 FT) from the field in a perfect 4-0 week for the Raiders, in which their margin of victory was 14.0 points per game. She capped the week with a 40-point performance (13-25 FG, 3-7 3PT, 11-14 FT) and seven rebounds in a road win over Elms. Prior to that, she had 19 points and eight boards against Colby-Sawyer, then had 31 points, seven rebounds and five steals against the Chargers, before posting 24 points in just 25 minutes against Dean on the road.

Jakara Murray-Leach, Albertus Magnus (Fr., G/F - Norwalk, Conn.) - Murray-Leach averaged 21.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game to help guide the Falcons to a busy 4-0 record in GNAC play last week. She began her week with a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double in a 73-58 win over USJ on Monday. She followed that up with 20 points, three boards and two steals in Wednesday's 79-68 triumph versus Regis (Mass.). The highlight of the rookie's week came on Saturday, when she lit up Colby-Sawyer for 27 points (10-for-20 FG) and seven rebounds in a commanding 63-35 win. Murray-Leach capped off her week up with 22 points at home on Sunday in AMC's 78-45 victory.
Franchesca Hammond, Anna Maria (Sr., G - Worcester, Mass.) - Hammond averaged 22.0 points, 3.7 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 3.0 steals while shooting 50% (22-44 FG, 14-23 3PT, 8-12 FT) to lead the AMCATS to a 2-1 week this past week. The 60.9% mark from three-point territory raised her season average from beyond the arc to 36.4%, good for seventh in the GNAC. In Anna Maria's shocking 70-67 win at Lasell on Saturday, Hammond was absolutely on fire, shooting seven-of-seven from behind the arc in a performance that tied for the most impressive performances in the nation this season in three-point percentage.
Marinique Reddin, Anna Maria (Fr., F - Tampa, Fla.) - Reddin continued to put in outstanding performances for the AMCATS this past week as she averaged 16.0 points, 11.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 4.0 steals and 2.3 blocks per game over three games. Reddin put in one of the best performances in AMCAT history on Monday, with 16 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists and eight steals, finishing two assists and two steals short of a quadruple-double.
Marissa Holt, Colby-Sawyer (Fr, G - Alfred, Maine) - Holt averaged 12.0 points and 9.3 rebounds in a three-game week for the Chargers. She double-doubled against both Rivier (12 PTS, 13 REB) and Albertus Magnus (14 PTS, 10 REB).
Alexah Potter, Dean (Jr, F - East Hartford, Conn) - Potter led the Bulldogs last week by averaging a double-double of 17.7 points and 14.7 rebounds in 24.7 minutes of action. She began the week with a 13-point, 14-rebound performance in just 16 minutes in a road loss at Anna Maria. The junior followed with a team best 23 points on 10-20 shooting to go with 16 points against Rivier. Potter ended the busy week with her fourth-straight double-double and eighth of the season with 17 points and 14 rebounds at Norwich.
Loredana D'Agostino, Emmanuel (Mass.) (Sr, F - Broad Brook, Conn.) - D'Agostino powered Emmanuel to a 3-0 week, averaging a double-double of 11.7 points and 10.7 rebounds. She opened the slate with a 16 point, 12 rebound showing in a 72-58 win over Coast Guard and closed the week with a 13 point, 15 rebound effort in a GNAC road win over USJ. On the week, the senior shot over 40% from the field while adding 11 steals, five blocks and four assists.
Meg Carroll, Lasell (Senior, Forward - Douglas, Mass.) - Carroll averaged 16.3 points and 8.3 rebounds in a three-game week, highlighted bya 17-point, 12-board double-double on Saturday in a 70-67 setback versus Anna Maria.
Haley Brewster, Norwich (Fr., G - Virginia Beach, Va.) - Brewster averaged 16.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.3 steals in a 1-2 week for the Cadets, including a 26-point performance in a 74-50 victory over Dean.
Pam Gonzalez, Regis (Mass.) (Jr., G - Revere, Mass.) - Gonzalez averaged 22.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.5 steals 1-1 over the past week. In last Monday's hard-fought victory over Johnson & Wales, she led the Pride with 14 points and 11 rebounds for her ninth double-double of the season, plus she collected a season-high six steals. Wednesday at Albertus Magnus, she became the first Regis player in four years to score 30 points in a game, shooting 11-for-20 from the field, including 4-for-7 from behind the three-point line. Gonzalez scored 19 points in the second half as the Pride attempted to rally from a 23-point halftime deficit. She also finished with seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals in the contest.
Jordan Ouellette, St. Joseph (Conn.) (So., G/F - Bristol, Conn.) - Oullette averaged 12.0 points and 1.0 rebounds in a 1-2 week, including a monster 19-point, 13-rebound double-double on Wednesday in a 68-61 win at Lasell.
Angelica Hurley, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Sophomore, G/F - Groveland, Mass.) - Hurley averaged 13.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game in a 3-0 week for the Monks. She capped the week by scoring 24 points on an 8-for-13 shooting effort with five rebounds in just 20 minutes in a victory at Johnson & Wales on Saturday.
Cassandra Stapelfeld, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Senior, G - Brookline, N.H.) - Stapelfeld averaged 21.7 points and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 57.9% (22-38) from the floor, 54.5% (12-22) from downtown, and 75% (9-12) from the free throw line in a 3-0 conference week for the Monks. The senior guard netted 29 points off a 58.8% (10-17) shooting effort – including a 6-for-10 clip from beyond the arc – in an 85-73 win at Anna Maria on Wednesday.
